Isabel Lasker
Hi, I'm Isabel. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) living in Los Angeles, California. I believe in the healing function of the psyche and the innate wisdom that lives in each of us. The right therapeutic relationship can foster the space needed to explore the depths of our inner worlds, in order to cultivate greater meaning and authenticity. I works with adults, teens, and parent-child dyads, supporting clients through life-transitions, grief and loss, relationship problems, career and identity challenges, chronic pain, and low self-esteem. My clinical specializations include complex trauma, codependency, and working with people who grew up in families struggling with alcoholism or dysfunction.
I holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing from Barnard College in New York City. I completed my practicum training at an intensive outpatient treatment center for substance abuse in Culver City where I still lead weekly writing groups. My approach to therapy draws from elements of mindfulness, Jungian psychology, internal family systems (IFS) and somatic therapy. My style is warm, grounded, and relational, and I tailor the therapeutic process to the unique needs of each person.
Isabel is currently accepting new clients to include adults, teens, couples and families.
